Character run


My character has been rigged, skinned and animated by Sarah Crossman (absolute life saver) i animated the axe but everything else including the cloth modifier on the piece of geometry in from of the legs is done by Sarah. I'm happy with the outcome and is nice to see my character have some life in him :D
(for some reason the something wierd happens through the clip but you can get the idea)

More Unreal Engine




I thought I would have a go at adding my Titan mech machine into the engine so I did :D came out well and also the weapons shot againt the geometry which had collision which I have also shown. I didn't do my whole mech because of time plus it's massive so wouldn't be able to see all the machine. I'll do it one day soon though!

Game Engine



So here is my character WIP in the Unreal Engine. the Unreal Development kit was tricky at first but all in all took an hour to get my model with textures - (that go in seperately, pulling my hair out :D) Using the VCTF-Sandstorm environment (one of Unreal Tournamnets 2 Blacks playable levels) was best suited for my character with the desert textures etc. The last image is to prove i havent composited my model in :p
Need a few tweaks on the spec and normal maps and then 'hey presto'..

Environment WIP


Two 3ds max scanline renders of my environment so far. Going well but bits pretty much everywhere to tweak :) Increased the colour of the darker orange to a more yellow/white colour so the environment hopefully is fully visible on all monitors.

Environment WIP

Depending on what monitor you have depends on how you visually see this (obviously lol), but thought id point it out as having a 24inch LED 8million:1 contrast and a TrueHD monitor really differs to the uni monitors haha, is extremely vibrant and bright at home but at uni need to bump the light parameters up a bit.. Anyway about the work, im really happy with how its going, had some really good feeback especially about the lighting so I'm happy, still more texturing and other bits of debris and objects to go in the scenes.

Mech and Gladiator update

A quick render of my character so far. So far so good, still have texturing to do and adjust like the spec and bump. Is rigged to so will have him in a nice pose.

Another quick render of my vehicle as it stands, again still adjusting and texturing on the diffuse maps, is rigged as well so will have the machine in a nice pose and fire coming from everywhere as well as steam etc GOING TO BE EPIC (hopfully).

Zbrush character

A WIP of my character for my final major project. Spent a day on it so far so lots more to come but will keep up to date with the sculpts :) really been trying to focus on the specific muscles and how they lie in accordance to each other like the weaving muscles on the rib area etc. At the moment the scuplt is symmetrical but after finishing sculpting the muscles I will mess about with it a bit :D Any comments welcome!

Hyper-real character (collaboration)


Hello, currently im texturing a hyper character i've been asked to model and texture for a T-rex project in collaboration with fellow students at uni. The character I'm modelling is a girl running away from a T-rex but unfortuantely ends up in the T-rex's stomach hahaha! Currently is going well and im happy with the way things are going, I will post more updates soon!! :D

Fire Test



I tried some fire tutorials and tests for my mech for the flamethrower to see if i could achieve a desired effect. They both came out better than i thought, i went into premiere to add some sound for a more true home cinema experience (joke lol) I used the 3ds max 2010 plugin Fume Fx (is very nice I like!)

Coolio, here are a few images of my machine work in prgress :D Currently I'm happy with how its going, still have plenty to do but the pistons work! (will upload a video of them) Modelled in max and probably into zbrush so i can some really nice metal detail of scratches and dents etc.. Please comments are good and appreciated!

Vehicle Project



My other project is a vehicle. I decided to do something different and came up with the idea of a combat mech or APU. The image above is from the intial ideas for my mech but then decided to completely change and finally wanted to model a Titan mech - machine the size of a skyscraper (probably bigger :D) top image with a colour test. The brown one will be my texture final as its closer to a more rustic and metal like feel. I will apply rust on the metal to :D

Pit-Stop



HaHa this is something I dug out from the first year (the memories), this is an animation for the glammies. I textured the bathroom using photoshop and was modelled in 3ds max.

Currently working on a Venetian gladiator. Two renders with and without wireframe low poly mesh modelled in 3ds Max and eventually will end up in ZBrush.

Demi Chojin Stills



A few stills of my model with and without hair to show in detail parts of the body so I and the viewer can see the model in more details of the low poly mesh with the applied texture maps. Above is a wireframe image to show the low poly in depth and below this image is the mudbox sculpt.

Mudbox Project



Low poly mesh was done in 3ds Max 2010, unwrap in Roadkill and sculpt in Mudbox 2010. I enjoyed this project especially the freedom of creating intricate details and forms as well as using alpha stamps and brushes. (I would watch it in 1080p otherwise quality isn't the best :D)

Maya Environment

Final Environment Models



Here are the final finished models from Maya. The image above has environment fog with a higher saturation distance and colour intensity of about 50%, the image below has very subtle settings to show a slight density of environment fog.
